With the release of the new, ultra-hot, ultra-nasty Wood Elves, there is a lot of interest in the muscle of the army: the Treeman. Any real fan of fantasy literature or tabletop games has to love the idea of the trees coming to life to defend their forest home. Any fan of the Wood Elf army will appreciate the power that such a creature brings to the battlefield. In the newest incarnation of Warhammer Armies: Wood Elves, there happens to be an all-new second type of Treeman presented: the Treeman Ancient. Even more venerable and powerful then your run-of-the mill 30' shambling arboreal menace, these behemoths are Lord choices (and take a Rare slot) that can actually lead your Wood Elf army into battle.

The greatest thing about the Treeman Ancient is that fielding one in your army will give you the opportunity to model your very own unique vision of this creature. Sure, you could use the amazing Treeman model that has just come out, but how are you going to tell the Ancients from the normal Treemen? No, that will not do. A Treeman Ancient deserves a suitable conversion. To help you with your Treeman Ancient conversions, we've commissioned three Wood Elf enthusiasts to show and tell us how they transformed their Treemen into masters of the woods. So, sit back, click your mouse, and be amazed. Oh, and good luck with your Treeman Ancient!
