Jake Landis: I always like to create a little background story for my armies, and many times my conversions reflect that background. Long ago, when the Wood Elves fled into the sanctuary of the forest, they gave tree creatures pearls as a demonstration of Wood Elf loyalty and allegiance to their new wooded home. Thus, my Dryads adorn themselves in the gifts of the Elves, which were their only reminders of the sea they left behind.

I choose to paint my Dryads with a mixture of browns and grays because it is uncommon to find a tree's bark that is either solid gray or brown. I used at sloppier painting technique to depict weathered parts of the wood.
