Jeff Wilson: With this Dryad, I wanted to give the impression that it has just appeared through or from a tree in order to surprise an unwary passerby and pull them back in for feeding. The Dryads and their background material are a lot darker and scarier now, and I wanted to carry that feeling across.

With a search through the bitz bin and a toy tree trunk on hand, I set off to make the “Gotcha!” Dryad. I cut enough of the plastic toy tree to allow room for the Dryad to stand "within" it. Looking back, if I did this again, I might not cut the hole but actually cut the feet off the Dryad and attach it directly to the tree trunk to give the impression of the magical Dryad actually phasing thru the tree, but this way worked just as well.
