Jeff Wilson: I wanted to get across the creepy, Fear-causing effect that the Dryads absolutely ooze. Adding the cowering Empire soldier form the Orc & Goblin giant to the base was a good way of getting this look. My thought was that the Dryad had lured the Man deep into the wood only to reveal its true form. Now, the poor Man cowers on the ground praying to Sigmar as the forest floor envelopes him. Note that it is the forest around him that's taking the soldier down, not the Dryad. In Athel Loren, you must beware all things, even the ground upon which you stand.

I didn't do much conversion to the Dryad itself. I did try to use a lot of the arm and branch bitz engraved with magical runes. I imagine maybe these runes glow during the shape-shifting process or at least become more defined. For the base, I placed the Empire soldier cowering away from the Dryad. I placed the Dryad like it's now disinterested in the human, as if it's already looking for its next prey as the forest comes to life to take the soldier to his doom. To accomplish this look, I used a little green stuff to make a vine and then cut two Dryad arms to fit around the soldier. I green-stuffed any gaps in the Dryad and moved on to painting.
