| Like all of their race, the Elves
of Athel Loren are intrinsically magical beings, their
consciousness residing on the physical and magical
planes in equal measure. In most, this talent is too
weak to be developed, instead representing itself
as occasional hunches and forebodings, but in some
truly gifted individuals it can be shaped into a tool
of great power. Such a boon is not without danger
to the user, for raw magical energy is a fickle and
destructive thing if drawn upon unwisely. The High
Elven mages of Hoeth protect themselves from its ravages
through a process of ritual and ceremony, using structure
to control the sleeping beast. For the Wood Elves,
however, their protection comes from an entirely different
source, that of the forest of Athel Loren –
the forest’s natural web of consciousness forms
both conduit and shield to the Elven mages who would
draw upon this potent force.
A Wood Elf Spellweaver counts as a Lord unit, while
a Wood Elf Spellsinger counts as a Hero unit. Either
type can serve as your army's General. There is a
maximum number of Lord and Hero units that you can
field, and this varies with the size of your army. |
