THE COMPETITORS

The competition in this year's Vampire Madness Tournament was especially fierce with the rules being modified to allow the Strigoi Vampires entry. Check out the participants, click on a few image to enlarge them, and then check out Round One!

Vyslov von Carstein It was a dreary night on the moors of what is left of Sylvania. Vyslov von Carstein waited patiently for the Necrarch Nebacanezzar. He wondered if he would even show for their duel. It all started the night before at the Burning Halfling Inn in the village of Heinriks Hope. Vyslov had been heading there to go "drinking" the same night Nebacanezzar had decided he was going to attack the village with his foul magicks. It was unseemly for two vampires of different bloodlines to share in the kill, so they agreed on a duel. Winner would get the right to slay the villagers of Heinricks Hope. The duel was set for the next night on the moors not far from the village. It was now several hours past the time set of the duel and the foul Necrarch still had not shown. "Oh, well." said Vyslov. "If the coward is not going to show, I am not going to wait. I hope the Burning Halfling Inn is still open so I can get a 'bite' and a few 'drinks'." - Hal Neat

Demonica
"Skull Face'
Chris Young's Lahmian Vampire Lord is a cute little thing with a nasty pet and a quick vicious bite. Serpentor, her Warrior Familiar Arcane Item is pretty obvious, but what else does she have up her sleeve ? My Studio ringer, this Blood Dragon Vampire Lord's job is to punish those participants who are, for whatever reason, without an opponent. Sure they make it to the next round, but Skullface'll teach 'em humility!

Jason of Strigoi
Draco Khanth
A strange Strigoi Vampire Lord indeed! Jason lives, and is fighting other Vampire Counts for his very survival. Three guesses which Strigoi Bloodline power Evan Lougheed gave this durable "vampire".

" The bodies of the dead are but playthings of Draco Khanth the Lord of Necrarch Sorcery. The powers of death are his to command!"
Aaryk Drake brings his Necrarch model "to life" with a skeletal gazebo.

Anastasio

Here's the deal with Ty Finocchiaro's Strigoi; Anastasio. He went after a Necrarch that had earlier tried to kill him for fun. The Necrarch was smart though and caught Anastasio off guard, imprisoning him in a magically sealed coffin. He also managed to wither Anastasio's form and dress him in funny looking clothes for a laugh. The Necrarch then buried the coffin and left Anastasio to die of thirst. But, such was Anastasio's hatred for the Necrarch that he whipped up a spell that would transform his prison into an extension of his very being! Now he floats around, 6 deadly hooked chains flailing about, hunting down Vampires of all bloodlines. Especially Necrarchs!

Mutabulous, The Bloated One

Ages ago, Mutabulous was a mighty Chaos sorcerer. He started down the path of damnation when he attempted to bargain with the Gods of Chaos for the secrets of immortality. They granted him the gift of Undeath and filled him with an insatiable thirst for the lifeblood of the living. Perhaps due to the taint of Chaos in him, a strange side effect of this is that the more souls he devours the larger his frame swells in size. Now, he searches tirelessly through long-forgotten archives and his own experimentation for the secret that will lead him to a release from his miserable existence.

Ed Phillips' Necrarch Lord Von Shrek

Level 3 Wizard +50, Warrior Familiar +30 (str 5 hit beginning of combat), Black Periapt +15 (holds one power dice), Casket of Ages +25 (power 3, one use, one wound no save, T test or die), Gem of Blood +25 (rebound first HtH wound on 2+, no save)

Harmony
Zemanski
Inspired by popular culture, DJ Gallagher's Lahmian Vampire Lord Harmony combines beauty, speed, and power. The ability to sway the hearts of the living will not be useful here though.

John Matthews' Blood Dragon Vampire Lord Zemanski has no bloodlines, and no magic weapons! He does however possess powerful magic items and a deadly great weapon!

Count Von Sakk
Hymndal the beast
Jay Mora has fielded a Vampire Lord so dreaded...so fearful that to see it is to lose your sanity! Ok, we'll show it to you; but only because you begged!

A flying monster is a very dangerous opponent, and Rick Willis' Strigoi Vampire Lord Hymndal in no exception.

Nebacanezzar
Nebechadnicious
Necarchs seem to plentiful in this tournament but even so, always show respect for them as individuals! Bert Smith's Nebacanezzar is a master of all things arcane, and will punish all his enemies!

Little is known about Chad Mierzwa's strigoi Vampire Lord Nebechadnicious except that he is deadly in combat. If you are forced to face this dark lord, run!

Puss-swiller, Ghoul King and Lord to the Marrowlickers

The real name of Joe Sleboda's Puss-swiller has been forgotten, even by him. His ghoul pack gave him this name because of his fondness for a mixed drink too disgusting to describe here. Puss-swiller takes battlefield victims back to his crypt, keeping them alive as long as they can produce components for his favourite potable. Once these poor souls fail to produce, they are given to the ghouls for...amusement. -
