ROUND 1
With 16 Vampire Lords of all shapes
and sizes vying for the Vampire Madness Crown, the competition should
be bloody, gruesome and entertaining. When this first single-elimination
round ends, only 8 of these bloodsucking monsters will be left standing.

Harmony vs. 'Skullface'
|

|
| Pure feral aggression was no match for guile
in this match! DJ's Lahmian Vampire Lord Harmony crushed the
heavily favored 'Skullface' with again... the dreaded Hand of
Dust! The speed of the female vampire was just too much for
the bruiser in each of the two battles that were fought. Congrats
DJ! |

Anastasio vs. Vampire Lord Von Shrek
|

|
In the first game Von Shrek raised a horde
of skeletons which Anastasio engaged. Von Shrek hid behind a
wall and watched. After dispatching all of the skeletons Anastasio
charged in and beat the Necrarch down.
The second battle saw Von Shrek moving slowly... cautiously.
More skeletons appeared and the Necrarch charged the coffin-encased
Strigoi. The combat went back and forth until Anastasio finally
administered the killing blow just in time as Von Shrek had
just raised a unit of skeletons on his flank, ready to charge
in and kill the Strigoi Lord. |

Nebechadnicious vs. Mutabulous
|

|
In the first round, Nebechadnicious schooled
Mutabulous on the fine art of casting Invocation of Nehek. The
Strigoi was able to almost double the number of Skeletons he
was summoning, creating a literal dog-pile ( sorry Chad ) that
he used to aid him in pulling down the foul Necrarch.
In the second round, the smell of scorched dog fur was in the
air as Nebechadnicious fried his canine brain attempting to
cast the Invocation one too many times. The only thing missing
from the beating that the Strigoi took that round was a rolled
up newspaper.
In the third round, the Strigoi dispensed with the pleasantries
and resorted to what they do best. The Necrarch was unable to
withstand the flurry of blows that rained down upon him and
only the Strigoi was left to stand triumphant at the end of
the match. - Jeff |

Draco Khanth vs. Zemanski
|

WINNER |
| Although he put up a mighty effort, Draco
Khanth the Lord of Necrarch Sorcery, fell two rounds straight
to the might of the Blood Dragon known only as Zemanski. John's
deadly combination of magic objects was too much for the legions
of undead that Draco summoned for the battle. I fear many a
Vampire Lord in the Tournament will fall before Zemanski if
this battle is any indication! |

Jason vs. Terry Von Carstein
|

|
| With the prospect of having to face this
maniac, logical thoughts prevailed and Terry Von Carstein graciously
bowed out to fight another day. Evan Lougheed's Jason might
be moving on to the next round, but the Von Carsteins are cunning
and should never be left standing, especially behind you! |

Demonica vs. Puss-swiller
|

|
|
Puss-swiller gets the jump on the Lahmian Vampire Lord, moving
up and casting a fruitless Curse of Years. Demonica took this
as a good sign and cast a devastating Gaze of Nagash right
before Serpentor, her warrior familiar, finished the job.
Bad luck left the Strigoi Vampire Lord cursing the Dark
gods when he failed 3 out of 4 armour saves dealt to him by
the little vampire in close combat. This was enough to put
out Puss-swiller two rounds in a row.

Hymndal the Beast vs. Count Von Sakk
|

|
|
Hymndal the beast flew into battle dispelling the magic cast
upon him as he moved. Joining a group of just summoned zombies,
he crushed Jay's Vampire in a challenge with the deadly Hand
of Dust.
In the second battle, Jay's miscast changed what could have
been a close match into a slaughter. Hymndal's 12 skeletons
helped vault the Strigoi Vampire Lord to victory over a weary
Jay Mora and his warrior familiar.

Vyslov von Carstein vs. Nebacanezzar
|

WINNER |
| The epic struggle between Vyslov
von Carstein and the Necarch Nebacanezzar
ended after 3 bloody rounds of combat. It seems that both
summoned creatures and the dreaded Hand of Dust spell
played prominent roles in each of the battles. Read Hal "Vyslov
von Carstein" Neat's take on the battle below! |
Vyslov had just about reached the small
village, when he saw Nebacanezzar appear out a swirling shadow.
"Your late!" quipped Vyslov.
"My apologizes Von Carstein. One of my
Thralls was staked and I need to punish the fool.", answered the
Necarch.
"Enough delays! Lets us end this now. I
grow hungry and do not wish to be delayed any longer. Defend yourself
Necarch!", cried Vyslov.
Vyslov quickly raised a unit a skeletons
and summoned a Dire Wolf to attack Nebancanezzar. The Necarch also
raised skeletons. The Von Carsteins skeletons were no match for
the Necarch unit without the vampire to lead them. The Dire Wolf
also quickly fell to the horde of skeletons. Nebancanezzar quickly
countered charging Vylsov. The Necarch then cast one of the most
foul Necromantic spells, Hand of Dust. Nebancanezzar then reached
out to touch the other vampire to suck away his undeath. Vyslov's
Ring of Night failed him and he fell before the Necarch into a pile
of dust. The vampire sure of his victory headed off toward the village.
"You will not win that easily dog!", cried
a voice behind Nebancanezzar.
Once again the Von Carstein appeared before
the Necarch as if he had not been turned to dust.
"I guess this dance of the dead is not
over yet. Come if you dare face my magicks again!", challenged the
Necarch.
Skeletons and wolves fought tooth and claw
while the Lords fought each other. This time fortune was with Vyslow.
The Necrarch's attempt to cast Hand of Dust again failed and his
mind was attacked by a daemons. While unable to cast any more spells
he fell to the Von Carstein's Sword of Might.
Just like Vyslov, the Necrarch reappeared
moments after his destruction.
"It appears that the matter is still not
settled, shall we?", the Necarch asked.
Once again they fought with spell and skeletons.
This time the Von Carstein summoned forth the power to raise the
dead, but it was too much for him. The power exploded and knocked
him dazed to the ground. The Necarch then reached down with his
Hand of Dust. Once again Vylsov's Ring of Night failed to save him
against this evil spell and he became dust.
This time he did not rise again and Nebancanezzar
ate well that night.
