In
ages long past, the men of the Old World buried their
dead heroes beneath mounds of earth and stone, together
with all of the the battle gear and worldly wealth that
they possessed while they were still living.
Wights are long dead warriors and heroes who have been
returned to the land of the living by foul, necromantic
magic. Although their bodies have long since decayed,
Wights are held together by evil magic so strong that
it has been known to last for
many centuries.
Wights
wear ancient armour of bronze and black iron, corroded
by time and dusty with the years. They carry iron weapons
that have been inlaid with evil runes, an accursed parody
of once powerful magical blades.
When one of the ancient kings of old is raised by this
evil magic, the result is an unusually powerful Wight
known as a Wight Lord. These Wight Lords rise from their
tombs to lead regiments or occasionally entire armies
of Undead minions into battle.
A Wight Lord may be included in your Vampire Counts
army as a Hero choice.

Some Vampires rule over entire regiments of Wights
made up of warriors who dared to challenge the Undead
noble in life and now serve him in death. These minions
of Undeath are known as Grave Guard and are armed with
evilly enchanted weapons which have been known to strike
down the strongest of warriors with one blow.
A Grave Guard regiment may be included in your Vampire
Counts army as a Special choice.

The greatest of Wight regiments ride into battle upon
Undead steeds and are known as Black Knights. The steeds
are called Nightmares, the carcasses of great
warhorses brought back to life by necromantic arts.
Balefire glows in their eyes, and their decomposing bodies
are rotted and foul. The sickening stench of death hangs
around them as they gallop into battle, crushing the
living beneath their moldy hooves.
A Black Knight regiment may be included in your Vampire
Counts army as a Special choice.
