Painting a Druchii Anointed

Most generals – Dark Elf or not – would agree that the Druchii Anointed Lord is the most fearsome addition to the Cult of Slaanesh army and is one of the most interesting characters in the game. You can add this impressive character to your army by following the steps below.

Follow the detailed instructions and check out the stage-by-stage images for reference as you paint your models. Don't fret if the model doesn't come out picture-perfect in the end; painting takes time and practice to master. Just do the best you can each time and be open to learning new techniques from others. Before you know it, you'll be quite an accomplished painter with models you'll be proud to game with!

After priming the model with Chaos Black Spray Primer, basecoat the tabard, cloak, and banner with Liche Purple. Make sure to get into all of the recesses of the cloth. Gradually mix in Bleached Bone with the Liche Purple and make successive highlights on the cloth.

2

Basecoat the shoulder and torso armour, chainmail, banner pole, shield rim, knee plates and ankle guards with Boltgun Metal. Apply a watered-down wash of Chestnut Ink to all of the metal areas except the sword and chainmail. Add a drop of Gloss Varnish to the wash if the ink pools on you.

3

Paint the gloves, top knot, "hooves," straps, and belt with Scorched Brown. Highlight these areas with Snakebite Leather. Highlight the studs on the gloves and leg armour with Boltgun Metal. Next, paint the belt buckle, chains, leg bands, and gem brackets with Shining Gold.

4

Basecoat the shield emblem and shoulder Slaanesh emblem with Tentacle Pink. Apply a wash of watered-down Magenta Ink to these areas. Then, highlight these areas with Tentacle Pink to restore the bright edges.

5

Start the skin with a basecoat of Dwarf Flesh. Next, apply a wash of watered-down Chestnut Ink. Go back over that with Dwarf Flesh but make sure to preserve the ink in the facial recesses. Highlight the flesh with an even mix of Elf Flesh and Dwarf Flesh. Finish the highlight with straight Elf Flesh.

For the gems, you can just paint them with Blood Red. However, if you want a more detailed look, basecoat them with a 3:1 mix of Blood Red to Chaos Black. Highlight the bottom edge of the gem with straight Blood Red (arc it up to the right). Add a pinprick of Skull White to the upper-left corner for the reflection.
