The next logical step up from a making single rock
terrain piece, is to group a bunch of rocks together and form a
rock cluster. This project is so simple the pictures nearly speak
for themselves!
|
The rock clusters featured here are made from wood chips easily
found at a garden store of hardware store. They have great ridges
and flakes that look awesome when painted up. Cut some of them
in half with a hacksaw so they appear to jutting up from the
earth. |
|
Glue the wood chips in a pleasing manner onto a base of your
choice. Have them grouped close together or spread them out,
it's up to you. |
|
Texture the base as you wish, paying close attention
to where the wood chips meet the base. You definitely want to
cover up this area with sand and make sure there is no gap. |
|
Breakout the paints and discover just
how well this stuff paints up for yourself! We used a variation
of Grays to paint the rocks and sprinkled some static grass
onto the base. Make about 5 or 6 of these and you can create
a really neat rocky area for your forces to hide amongst! |
