| Why are
most Zombies created from the Men and Women of
the
Empire? Perhaps it is because Men die sooner than
Elves or Dwarves, Human graveyards are plentiful
for
the robbing, and there are plenty of folks in the
Empire that can easily go missing without attracting
attention. The convenience of Humans as prime zombie
stock is undeniable. However, when a Necromancer
can't
be choosy, he has to work with the materials he has
on hand (or underfoot). Tim Huckelbery tackled
this
grim supply and demand dilemma by converting up some
alternate Zombie models with some help from Jeff
Cauley.
What's more, conversions like these can make the
perfect basis for you to make Zombie Pirates for
the upcoming
Conquest of the New World campaign. Check
out the disgusting fruits of Tim and Jeff's half-mad
labour
below to get a few ideas for your swashbuckling brain-eaters.

| Tim used
tiny amounts of green stuff to add that little bit
of "zombified" flair to his models in the
form of spilling intestines, rotting flesh, and exposed
bone. Since these additions are easy enough to accomplish,
almost anyone can achieve decent results with minimal
effort. In addition to simple putty work, Tim mixed
and matched the Skeleton Sprue with models from various
races (especially the Cursed Company and the old Gorkamorka
ranges) to create his unique Undead horde. |

| With his
mind stuck firmly on Undead with a snarl, Jeff mixed
the plastics from the Zombie and Beasts of Chaos ranges.
The examples above show how simple conversions can
be. |
