FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. If Tyrion loses a combat, breaks, and then is caught and destroyed, would the Heart of Avelorn still work? In other words, would he still come back to life?

No, he has to lose his last Wound, in the same way as a character with Regenerate can't come back.

2. Where are the other High Elf special characters like Alarielle and Korhil?

On this very site (see links above)!

3. Do Swordmasters have Killing Blow? It's just that the description in the Warhammer rulebook for Killing Blow uses Swordmasters as an example.

Well, the Honour Swordmaster gives the character Killing Blow. We didn't want them being too much like Dark Elf Executioners (and the No Strike Last bonus is plenty good enough!)

4. In the new High Elf book the War Crown allows Teclis to cast spells with unlimited range:

"Any spell which is normally limited to a specific range in inches is now of unlimited range. Spells that only affect the caster or may already may be cast anywhere are not altered. Note that this does not mean that he can cast spells at targets that are out of sight if the spell normally requires a line of sight"

OK, we all realize that this makes him very powerful since now all those ranged magic missiles can be cast at any thing but my point is: WHAT ABOUT THE STORM OF CRONOS!!!! Normally it will affect every unit within 12" and visible to the caster but with Teclis (who now has unlimited range) all visible enemy units will take D6 Strength 4 hits, right? - therefore it is impossible to lose with Teclis!!!!

Erm... Yes. Although Drain Life is probably more deadly since no line of sight is required! Change the paragraph to read:

"Any spell which is normally limited to a specific range in inches is now of unlimited range, Spells that only affect the caster, all units within a certain range of the caster or may already be cast anywhere are not altered. Note that this does not mean that he can cast spells at targets that are out of sight if the spell normally requires line of sight."

5. How come the Phoenix Crown is limited to the War of the Beard?

Because the Dwarfs captured it at the end of the war...

6. Do Repeater Bolt Throwers suffer -1 for shooting multiple shots?

No, they do not suffer a -1 penalty.

7. On page 26 of the Warhammer Armies: High Elves book, there is a rule in the margin that reads:

"FIRST AMONG EQUALS: One unit of either Spearmen or Silver Helms may be given a magic standard worth up to 25 points."

Does it mean that only one unit of Silver Helms or Spearmen may include the banner; or can one unit of Spearmen and one unit of Silverhelms use a magical banner?

Only one unit of Silver Helms OR Spearmen may include the banner. One unit in total.

8. If one character in a normal unit has Magic resistance (caused by a magic item, for instance) Does the unit benefit from this character's Magic resistance if a spell hits the unit AND the character?

Yes.
