Turn Two

Undead Turn Two

The Prince’s challenge was immediately accepted as the Fell Bats charged in. The speed and grace of the Elf Knight bested the creatures, which could not find a gap in his defence. In return the brave Knight struck out, catching the already wounded bat on the wing with his blade, felling the foul creature.

The remainder of the Undead continued to move across the hills towards the defending Elf force. The Banshee also moved up through the woods, drifting through the trees as if they were not there. The other group of Fell Bats moved up to oppose the Elves.

High Elf Turn Two

With the stirring example set by the heroic Dragon Prince, Dalthimar charged into the swarm of Vampire Bats in front of him. Another of the Dragon Prince retinue now charged into one of the Fell Bats on the opposite flank to his brother. The leader of the Dragon Princes though, Drakemaster Staris, could not charge any of the horrifying Undead, as his steed  was bucking and whining in terror.

Having now dispatched the Fell Bats with aid of the valiant Dragon Prince, Arianar-eth now turned his attention to the swarm of lesser bats about to swamp Dalthimar. Again all of his arrows were straight and true, swatting bats from the air with unerring accuracy, but not enough to scatter the flock completely.

The lone Dragon Prince, having faced down two of the Fell Bats already, now prepared to fight the last one. He could not quite find his mark, though, as the Fell Bat swooped in and clamped onto the gauntlet covering his hand. The armour plating held, and the vile creature was thrown clear of the Knight by his loyal steed.

Dalthimar lashed out with his magically enchanted blade. His blows landed cleanly and the bats were cut down by the ferocity of his attacks. Despite the fury of his onslaught, the Bat Swarm seemed undiminished in size, clawing and biting at the hero’s armour, trying to find a weak spot. However the armour of the High Elf had been forged in the White Tower of Hoeth and it held true.

The Fell Bat on the other flank flapped out of range of the lance wielded by the charging Dragon Prince, and as the Knight rode by it attacked. It’s long, razor-sharp fangs found a weak point in the neck armour of the Knight from Caledor who fell to the floor, clutching the puncture wounds on his neck. The foul creature descended on the fallen knight, sinking its teeth into the already flowing wound.
