These
State Troops are armed with long-barrelled black powder
weapons known as handguns, often manufactured by the
highly skilled gunsmiths of Nuln. The withering volleys
of Handgunners’ lead shot can break the most determined
Orc Waaagh! or unhorse even a heavily armoured Chaos
Knight.
Crossbows have a longer range than handguns and are
far more easily produced, though they lack the penetrative
power of handguns. Most Elector Counts retain a sizeable
number of Crossbow regiments, while mercenary Crossbowmen
(particularly those from Tilea) are frequently recruited
to augment the firepower of an Empire army.
You may include a unit of State Handgunners or State
Crossbowmen as a Core Units choice in your Empire army. |
