The communications Nodule itself is actually
a modified bit from an old vacuum. (In fact,
if you look hard at the Ork terrain featured
in Cities of Death, you might find
a few more pieces from the same vacuum cleaner.)
With the vacuum cleaner bit serving as the
main armature, I used the top of a strange
drink lid, some old pen caps, along with
a few Tau plastic bits to finish off the
piece. Just goes to show what you can make
with objects found around the house. I painted
the Nodule using the same paints and weathering
materials Mark used. But, since nothing
was made of foam, I didn't have to sand
anything between coats of emulsion paint.
