Conclusion

As you've probably realized by now, the static Tau and the mobile Tau represent two ends of a spectrum rather than two distinct choices. Most Tau players do not play a purely static force or a purely mobile force. Personal preference and gaming experience will tell you where you want to fall along that range of possible tactical approaches.

If you find yourself running into the same problem repeatedly, then consider borrowing an idea or two from the approach that you aren't using. Certain methods are better in certain situations, and you might find that a mobile or static technique handles the challenge better.

Also, know that both parts of this tactical article make up only a broad overview of the Tau way of war. New tactical approaches are being created every day, and you will assuredly develop your own opinions on the subject. Check the web and forums for more in-depth and recent Tau tactics. The veteran players can really help you perfect your play, if you can get them to share the secrets of the Tau. Good hunting!
