Maxum - Mortifactor Legion - Entombed 682.M32:
I felt inspired to give the Dreadnought a more
gothic and ancient feel. However, I did not
want to use the standard plastic chassis. I
figured that the Ghazkull Thrakka torso would
provide a good base to work from, as all I had
to do was cover the Orky icon with some plasticard
or just file it off. I modified the shoulder
guards of the Inquisitor range's Tyrus model
so that each weapon would still fit in place
and not look too awkward. The head from a Defiler
(sans horns) gave it the ancient feel I was
really looking for. I added some banners and
purity seals from the Throne of Judgment to
make the Dreadnought look like a veteran of
hundreds of battles. |

Grandvil - War Bearers - Entombed
645.M40:
I wanted to make only minor changes to this
Dreadnought to represent a recently (1,000
years
or so...) entombed Space Marine with mostly
up-to-date weaponry. I started out with the
torso and added the Throne of Judgment Engine
to the rear. I wanted this Dreadnought to
be
a fan of getting stuck in where the combat
was most intense. Thus, I swapped out the
usual
tiny power claw with a proper one from Ghazkull
Thrakka to give it a slightly arcane and very
choppy feel. The rest of the model was a matter
of finding various banners and icons from
the
Inquisitor range along with the Space Marine
Command Sprue to properly adorn it with badges
of honour. |
