Vetselav - Rechista Fists - Entombed 235.M35:
I fitted this Dreadnought with the standard
close-combat weapon and assault cannon combination.
The Demolisher Engine Cover served as a fine
new plate of protective armour on the front of
the model. It also instantly changed the look
of the Dreadnought to make it feel a bit more
Venerable. As for the arms, I really wanted
the assault cannon to be on the left arm instead
of the right one. To make cannon look a bit
older, I extended the power claw base with a
plastic Empire Mortar and fitted a trimmed-down
Master of the Ravenwing Assault Cannon into
the socket. The result was a strange, drum-shaped
weapon. The only right-armed Dreadnought close-combat
weapon out there is for the Blood Angels Furioso
Dreadnought. Therefore, I grabbed that bit,
added the plastic claw, and cut the flamer so
that it replaced the melta gun under the claw.
On the power plant, I added the nozzle from
the old metal Space Marine Land Speeder Lastly,
I pinned a couple of braziers form the Throne
of Judgment to the top chassis and a lantern
from the Inquisitor range's Techpriest Tezla
to make this Dreadnought sufficiently Venerable.

Maikor - Dark Angels - Entombed 984.M38:
The Dark Angels are currently the only ones
with plasma cannon-armed Dreadnoughts. These
weapons are still pretty temperamental and rarely
used, so building a really cool ancient version
sounded like fun. I hacked off the plastic assault
cannon and pinned the cylindrical Sponson Weapon
Mount from the old Predator in its place. Then,
I added the nozzle from the old metal Space
Marine Land Speeder coupled with an Attack Bike
Axle Cap to the tip. On the side of this assembly,
I fitted the left tank from the Throne of Judgment.
I made the missile launcher arm from one of
the Land Speeder Typhoon extensions with the
Dreadnought plastic missile plate glued in place.
From the Inquisitor range, Enforcer Barbaretta's
Riot Shield along with the 40K Demolisher Cannon
made an impressive porthole-like front piece.
To finish, I added a few more details like Grey
Knight Terminator Shield sprue bitz and pieces
from the Space Marine Command Sprue. |

Devterion - Angels Vermilion - Entombed
111.M37:
Straying from the long-range weaponry theme,
I built this Dreadnought for close-quarter
fighting.
After cutting the lascannon barrels from the
plastic arm, I replaced them with a multi-melta
from the Inquisitor range. To emphasize the
feel that an older system fuelled the weapon,
I glued a Steel Legion Sentinel Power Pack
and Sponson Weapon Mount from the old Predator
to
the side. I made the power claw from a Mailed
Fist Battering Ram bit from Warhammer Siege
coupled with an ammo clip from the Inquisitor
range. My idea was that the fist incorporates
a storm bolter into a strange sort of combi-weapon.
Meanwhile, Vindicator Side Armour (with the
eagle)
and a pair of old Razorback Middle Hatches
created formidable front armour worthy of a
Venerable
Dreadnought. I reinforced the ancient look
with a metal Land Speeder Back Rest on top
of this
armour. On the rear of the mode, I glued a Penitent
Engine Back in place over the Dreadnought's
power plant. Once more, I added a few details
like Grey Knight Terminator Shield Sprue bits
and pieces from the Space Marine Command Sprue
to finish the model. |
