- SCOUTS OUT! -
It's hard not to like Scouts on an emotional level. Everyone has been in a similar situation at some point in his life: the new kid who has to prove himself worthy to the group. Thus, when a Space Marine kills an Ork, it is no big surprise. However, when a Scout kills an Ork, it's time to do the happy dance. This "underdog" status makes the Scouts fun to root for.

Also, the Scout models make for fun painting and conversions. You can really focus on each Scout model and paint it with rich details (especially since Scouts don't usually wear helmets). Plus, the limbs are easy enough to swap, and those sniper Scouts just beg for additions to their camouflage. Scouts can really give your Space Marine army a unique look.

Lastly, though Scouts are not supermen by any means, this fact can work in their favour, as opponents will often underestimate these fledgling Space Marines. Scouts can fill several tactical roles on the battlefield that make them highly useful when applied correctly. A wise Space Marine commander will take a serious look at adding Scouts in his army – they have uses that cannot be ignored.
