GLUE SAFETY
GUIDELINES
Be careful when using glue and read the instructions on the packaging.
When using glue, work in a well ventilated area to avoid breathing
the fumes.
Keep the cap on the glue when you're not using it. The cap will
stop the glue drying out and prevent any spillage if you accidentally
knock the glue over.
If you are gluing polystyrene, only ever use PVA glue, as other
types of glue will melt the material.
Keep all glue products out of reach of children and pets.
Special instructions for Superglue
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Use in a well ventilated area – do not inhale fumes.
- Be careful – superglue bonds skin and eyes in seconds.
- In the case of bonded skin, gently peel apart using soap, hot
water, and a blunt edged instrument (e.g., a teaspoon handle).
Do not pull skin apart!
- In the case of eye contact, gently wash the eye with water.
Seek medical attention if the contamination is severe.
- Do not ingest – if swallowed, seek medical attention
urgently.
Special instructions for Plastic Glue (Liquid Polystyrene Cement)
- Use in a well ventilated area – do not inhale fumes.
- Do not ingest – if swallowed, seek medical advice immediately.
