Native to Cuthellian IV, the Cudbear can be
found in the deep fern forests that cover the
planet's surface. Naturally shy creatures, Cudbears
are only known to attack when threatened or
to protect their young. The Cudbear forages
for food by unearthing roots and grubs with
its powerful and incredibly sharp front claws.
These claws are honed to a razor’s edge
as the Cudbear digs through the shale crust
that lies underneath the forest floor. The hide
of these beasts is a tangled mass of coarse
fur that grows from a thick, rigid epidermis
that protects the creature from the elements.
Such protection is necessary, as the Cuthellian
winter is harsh and the frequent ice storms
require a high level of resiliency from the
creatures that reside on the planet.

Nick Davis converted his Cudbear from an
old Warhammer Quest plastic Minotaur. He first
cut off the Chaos emblem and trimmed down
the loincloth. He took the claws from the
Tyranid Termagant sprue and glued them to
the knuckles of the Minotaur's hands. Nick
then covered the body with static grass but
left the chest, face, and inside of the hands
clear. Nick then covered the static grass
with watered-down white glue. This step causes
the grass to resemble matted-down fur.
