Discovering the Airbrush
by Rick Smith

In the second part (here is part one) of this two-part series entitled TREADHEADS, we'll explore the often-ignored (and sometimes-feared) method of painting models with the powerful and versatile airbrush. Oddly, the airbrush has undeservedly bad rap. This perception may be due in part to the very nature of the beast. Like a Space Marine's finely crafted bolter, an airbrush is a precision tool and must be cared for and cleaned after each use or it becomes temperamental. This maintenance may be the reason why this great approach to model painting is overlooked by many hobbyists.

Then again, maybe it's the cost of the tool itself and the accompanying equipment
that makes ownership of such a device somewhat prohibitive. However, if your thing is modeling and painting vehicles, this tool will change your life. With a little practice, patience, and a steady hand, you'll find there's no armoured vehicle in the 41st millennium that
can withstand the awesome power of the airbrush.
