Picture of an Eldar Farseer miniature. The Eldar are an incredibly ancient race who once ruled a vast empire that spanned the galaxy. Then came the hideous times of the Fall, when the Eldar were consumed by their own decadence and fell from power. The few who survived were scattered across the stars, though they still held claim to a heritage of great wisdom and advanced technology. Only a fool would think the Eldar can be beaten easily. The old idiom exists for a reason: "A cornered animal fights twice as hard."

Collecting, painting, and fielding a brand new army for Warhammer 40,000 may seem a bit daunting at first. Fear not! On the following pages, you'll find a bunch of useful information on how to assemble your models and then give them a basic paint job with a minimal number of colours. Plus, we look at a sample Eldar army that will give you an idea of how to amass your own force.

It's time to get started, so gather your clippers, glue, and paints. Armies don't paint themselves, you know!
