Once your models have an undercoat, painting can begin. Below, you will find a simple-but-effective colour scheme using only 11 colours. Follow the detailed instructions and check out the stage-by-stage images as you paint your model for reference. Don't fret if the model doesn't come out picture-perfect in the end; painting takes time and practice to master. Just do the best you can each time and be open to learning new techniques from others. Before you know it, you'll be quite an accomplished painter with models you'll be proud to game with!

WE USED THE FOLLOWING CITADEL PAINTS:
Codex Grey
Chaos Black
Liche purple
Enchanted Blue
Brazen Brass
Boltgun Metal
Shining Gold
Scab Red
Black Ink
Chestnut Ink
Blood Red
1 After an undercoat of Chaos Black, apply a very quick coat of Regal Blue to the model's armour. On top off this, paint a watered-down mixture of Regal Blue and Enchanted Blue onto the armour. Grab a pot of Liche Purple and paint the shoulder pads or any other areas you want to stand out.

2 Highlight the edges of the armour with watered-down Enchanted Blue. Paint the gun barrel Boltgun Metal and any spikes or plates Brazen Brass. Clean your water at this point to avoid mixing any metallic chips into future colours.

3

Highlight the Liche Purple areas with a bit of Scab Red. Continue using Scab Red to paint the eyes and the bulbous rifle bit. Paint a highlight of Shining Gold over the Brazen Brass areas. Again, clean your water to avoid mixing metallic chips into future colours.

4

Highlight the eyes of the helmet as well as the rifle bit with Blood Red. Mix Codex Grey and Chaos Black in order to lightly highlight the Chaos Black areas of the gun. Water down Chestnut Ink and Black Ink, then apply this mix to any of the metallic areas. Now your Dark Eldar is ready for some raiding action!

Time to get your freshly painted models onto the tabletop for their first battle!
