Brief Army Overview
My initial 1000 points contains the core of my army and I've tried to pack in some of those extremes you need to garner victory on the battlefield. The army is led by a Dracon, armed with the Agoniser (one of the best CC levelers in the game). He is backed by 4 Incubi, with a Hamonculus trotting on in behind. Of course they are all mounted on Raider for that fast striking goodness. As backup I've included a squad of Wyches, who can engage the same target as the Dracon to ensure its doom.

All Dark Eldar armies are always short on troops as these are just as expensive as the more elite units. I've two squads in this army. One is a Raider Squad who's primary role is to make a nuisance of itself on the battlefield and distract from the hitting power of the Retinue and the Wyches. The other squad is on foot and supplies a little bit of that needed firepower in a Dark Eldar army. Speaking of firepower my last choice is the bat winged Scourges, armed with the 4 dice splinter cannons and equipped with jump packs. I never deep strike them because their mobile firepower is too useful, this little squad is very, very good at stopping an enemy attack dead.

I always keep my tactics very simple when playing with my Dark Eldar - I go for the enemies throat. A Dark Eldar army will always do more damage in close combat than by shooting, so you must engage your enemy as quick as possible. I use the Scourges to blow a hole in the part of the enemies battleline that I want my Retinue and Wyches to enter and then pile in... Pitching your Dark Eldar right into the enemies line usually puts your opponent on the backfoot leaving him the option to only be reactive to your strikes as you tear through his units. Remember this and you will either win big using Dark Eldar or you will lose big, there is no middle ground. Strike Hard, strike fast and strike first.
