As you saw in White Dwarf a while back, a bevy of spells
is available to everyone. Plus nifty things like Familiars
and Warp Talismans. Good ol' Doombolt is back, though my favourite
spell for Assault units has to be Wind of Chaos. If you are
feeling lucky you could take Mass Mutation. If you are feeling
really lucky take Gift of Chaos; nothing would be funnier
than seeing a C'tan turned into Chaos Spawn….
So much to say I won't say much at all. You really go to
town with these treats and have very themed Champions
in each
of your units. The modeling / conversion opportunities alone
make it worth using this aspect of the Armoury.
One to make note of is the Daemonic Stature. You get a natural
T of 5. The downside? You are now 10' tall and fully targetable
(like a Tyranid Monstrous Creature). But dude, T 5! You have
to beware of rail guns and Demolisher cannons (who doesn't?)
but not much else. If you suspect you will be seeing lots
of S10 Weapons then invest in a Daemonic Rune (no autokill).
Really tasty extras also include Daemonic Essence (+1 Wound),
Daemonic Aura (5+ Inv save) and Daemonic Armour (2+ Armour
save).
