In two simple moves my list is back to Tourney-Legal despite
all of the changes in the new Codex. So, why did I make the
changes that I did?
- Two new Obliterators are easily worth more than three
old ones, so dropping one for a 70 points saving was no
effort (net savings of 40 points off the first list and
I get twice as many lascannons).
- By switching the Squad Metal Storm to a Havocs unit and
dropping the Infiltrate skill I was able to add two more
heavy bolters to the mix (for a healthy four in total) and
I came in at only 16 points more than the original Veterans
unit with TWICE the firepower.
See? That didn’t hurt now did it?
Look out for more work with the translating of armies from
the old Codex to the new Codex, along with my Chaotic partner
in crimes against the Imperium, Tim Pearce. If you have any
commentary or questions on the articles, feel free to join
the Chaos Warhammer 40,000 list at Yahoo Groups: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/40k-chaos/
and ask away (I am usually hanging around there most days).
And remember: Let the Galaxy Burn!
