The weapons have a mind of their own but are worth the risk,
especially when combined with other abilities. For example,
a Daemon Prince (S 5) with a Dark Blade (+2 S),and Furious
Charge skill (+1 S, +1 I on charge) would have a Charge Initiative
6, Strength 8! Enough to auto kill those pesky Chaplains on
bikes. For you shooty folks, there is the splendid Kai Gun
(24" range, S 6, AP 3, Assault 2). Or are Seer Councils
giving you problems? Take a Dread Axe (no Invulnerable saves)!
Only one Daemon Weapon per army though (which is a GOOD thing).
Check out the cult specific weapons in the Books of Chaos
(picture a Khorne Lord with Daemonic Flight and a Berserker
Glaive <<shudder>>).

| A Havoc missile launcher that
doesn’t blow-up! Rhinos with a combi-melta! And those
aren’t the best ones. Possession is way cheaper. Nurgle’s
Infestation is now called Mutated Hull and everyone can
buy it. Also, how about the ability to 'regrow' a destroyed
weapon or un-Immobilise yourself (Parasitic Possession)?
Or, a vehicle that can assault units close by with tentacles
(Living Vehicle)? You know you want one. Dirge Casters
are also great for Undivided Assault forces (makes units
within 6" Fearless). |
