Brief Army Overview
An adaptation of the previous force, this army is more well rounded with the addition of some large units of daemons, and the awesome might of the Chaos Defiler. A few things were dropped, but the additions are worth it. Its important to remember that when summoning daemons that you must have a Chaos Icon on the board at the beginning of the turn in which the daemons are available. The army includes some fast moving units that contain icons like the Raptors and Chaos Marine Squad that's mounted in the Rhino. Move these units up quickly, but don't over extend and jeopardize these units to massed enemy firepower or assaults. Chances are the enemy will move his units up to engage the enemy, and that's when you spring the trap by summoning your demons and assaulting with them. Remember that daemons are summoned at the beginning of the turn so they can move and assault in the turn they are summoned. Each unit of demons are specialized creatures that are best sent against particular foes. Demonettes excel at assaulting small and heavily armoured units and light vehicles. Plaguebearers are excellent at taking down high toughness, lightly armoured troops, and their Nurgle's Rot ability can take down scores of the enemy if they get too close. Bloodletters are great period. Quite possibly the most viscous hand to hand combatants in the game, there are few units that can stand up to their abilities in melee combat. The Defiler adds much needed ordnance fire to the Chaos Space Marine army. A proper shot can wipe out entire units of Space Marines, and the vehicle's demonic properties mean that it can take more punishment than its mediocre 12 armour value might suggest. Experimentation with assorted troop types will help you build an army that best suits your style of play, and with the huge number of options available to a Chaos Space Marine general, you should have no problem coming up with a diverse, competitive army that's truly a blast to play.
