- Purchase of a ticket allows each competitor to lodge 1 entry per category. So long as they meet each category’s criteria they can enter as many categories as they wish.
- All entries to the Golden Demon Competition must be painted Citadel miniatures, Forgeworld or Imperial Armour models.
- You may also choose to enter converted models based upon Citadel Miniatures or scratch-built models that you have sculpted yourself [It is recommended that entrants take construction photos of their sculpts/conversions prior to undercoating and keep details of what models they have sourced parts from should they be required to provide details of the origins of the piece.]
- All entries MUST be consistent with the atmosphere of the game world and conform to spirit and ethos of the Games Workshop universes only.
- Models entered in any previous Golden Demon competition (domestic or international) are not eligible to be entered in the 2007 Australia & New Zealand Golden Demon Competition.
- Entries must be mounted on a slottabase of the size appropriate to the model (in most cases that’s the one it is sold with or which it is allowed in game system rules) or as indicated in the restrictions within the category.
- Models which come with “Flying Stands” may be entered into categories allowing bases no larger than 25mm if mounted on a Small Flying Stand; and those categories allowing 60mm bases can also include models which come with Large Flying Stands.
- Scenic display bases or display bases which slotta bases are intended to sit into or on are not allowed in any category of this competition
- Handling bases to which slotta bases are affixed to avoid the need to touch the actual entry while judging are allowed. They may be no more than 20mm wider than any edge of the slotta base of the model and may be no more than 5mm thick. For the purposes of ease of photography handling bases may only be skull white in colour with a matt finish and include no other colours, lettering or embellishment on their upward facing side. Models may be affixed to their handling base in whatever way the competitor feels to be appropriate.
- Completion of all Registration details, which will be provided at the time a ticket is purchased, is a condition of entry to the competition.
- Entrants are responsible for ensuring they obtain a registration number and that it is put onto their entry in a way that it cannot become separated from the entry through general handling (ie paint the number under the base of your models).
- All entries to the 2007 Golden Demon Competition must be personally handed in by the entrant to a participating Golden Demon Competition location on Saturday October 6th 2007 by the time stipulated by the location. Each location will indicate, by a poster and if appropriate the Games Workshop website, the times it will be accepting entries in each category. This information will be available no earlier than September 1st 2007.
- All entries which do not qualify for further rounds must be collected on the day of the event, Saturday October 6th 2007, by the entrant in person at the times specified in the Hobby Centre or Independent Stockist at the time of entry .
- Competitors will be fully responsible for the transport of their own entries to and from Golden Demon Day and for the storage of their transport and packing materials on the day.
- Should they qualify for subsequent rounds of Golden Demon competitors can choose to transport their entry themselves or have Workshop transport their entry on their behalf.
- Competitors must provide appropriate packaging for transport of their models by Games Workshop to the Regional and Grand finals. Guidelines for Competitor provided packaging (size and weight restrictions) are available on our Website. Games Workshop will only transport entries which comply with the Packaging Guidelines.
- Following the Regional or Grand Final rounds entries transported by Games Workshop will be transported back to the original Hobby Centre they were first entered in. Therefore it is a requirement that competitors provide appropriate packaging for all of their entries.
- When competitors are responsible for transporting an entry and it fails to arrive by the notified deadline for any subsequent round, the model will be ineligible for judging and disqualified from the competition. The deadline for both the Regional and Grand Final is 10am on the day of judging.
- Any competitor caught modifying their entry between rounds will be disqualified.
- Due to the competition’s exhibition & photography requirements entries in the Grand Final will not be available for collection until 3pm on Sunday the 18th of November.
- Games Workshop reserves the right to refuse entry to the competition.
- Once they are booked in, Games Workshop undertakes to treat all entries with the greatest care, but will accept no responsibility for any loss or damage to individual entries. Competitors are strongly advised to secure heavy parts by pinning or other appropriate means. Almost all breakage of models occur when models are either not pinned at all or are inadequately pinned. Entry to the competition is at the competitor’s own risk.
- Due to licensing restrictions, entries to non The Lord of The RingsTM categories may not include components from The Lord of The RingsTM Strategy Battle Game range, and vice-versa.
- Entry to the competition gives Games Workshop the right to display, photograph and publish an entry as they see fit. Photography of models during competition events by other than Official GW photographers is not permitted.
- Finally, while you may not agree with the outcome of the competition, the judges’ decision is final.
