WARHAMMER SINGLE MINIATURE:

This catagory is open to single Warhammer miniatures on standard slottabase sizes 20mm x 20mm or 25mm x 25mm.

WARHAMMER MEDIUM MINIATURE:

This category is open to Warhammer miniatures on slottabase sizes: 25mm x 50mm, or 40mm x 40mm. This category is for all Warhammer cavalry, and single medium monsters such as Trolls, Ogres, Daemon Princes etc.

WARHAMMER REGIMENT:

This category consists of a collection of 5-20 models from Warhammer Fantasy Battle. This category is open to Warhammer miniatures on slottabase sizes: 20mm x 20mm, 25mm x 25mm, 25mm x 50mm, or 40mm x 40mm. Entries for this category must consist of a legal unit entry chosen from the appropriate army list. The unit must include a Standard Bearer, a Musician, and a unit Champion if available to it. For ease of handling the Regiment may be presented on a standard movement tray which is no more then 10mm wider than ranked unit. This category does not include a unit of chariots and Characters cannot join units.

WARHAMMER 40,000 SINGLE MINIATURE:

WARHAMMER 40,000 MEDIUM MINIATURE:

This category is open to a single Warhammer 40,000 miniature on slottabase sizes 40mm, and 25mm x 50mm. This category includes any single Warhammer 40,000 model that comes with a mounting base. This includes the Avatar, Daemon Princes, Ogryns, some large Tyranids, single Tau Battle Suit, Jetbikes, and special characters such as The Nightbringer, Ghazghkull, Saint Celestine etc.

WARHAMMER 40,000 UNIT SQUAD OR GROUP:

This category consists of a collection of 5-20 Warhammer 40,000 models: This category is open to Warhammer 40,000 miniatures on slottabase sizes: 25mm, 25mm x 50mm, 40mm or 60mm. It must consist of a legal unit entry chosen from the appropriate Codex, Chapter Approved article or Imperial Armour army list. This category includes squads mounted on bikes, jetbikes and warbikes as described in the various Codices but not vehicle squadrons. All figures must be mounted on their appropriate bases.

THE LORD OF THE RINGSTM SINGLE MINIATURE:

This category is open to any single the Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game™ range or scratch built miniatures on slottabase size up to 25mm.

THE LORD OF THE RINGSTM LARGE MODEL:

This category is open to any single the Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game™ range or scratch built miniatures on base size 40mm or larger for a single entry figure.

For a group you must include a collection of nine figures on their appropriate base size or a Warmachine and it’s full crew.

VEHICLE, SQUADRON, WARMACHINE, MONSTER OR CHARIOT UNIT:

This category is for any single large Warhammer 40,000 miniature or vehicle including tanks, Dreadnoughts, Carnifex or vehicle squadrons. (Forgeworld Imperial Armour vehicles are also included in this category.) Or Warhammer Fantasy Battle models with bases 50mm x 50mm, 50mm x 75mm or 50mm x 100mm, such as Greater Daemons, Giants, and Chariots, as well as models without bases such as War Machines with a complete game legal crew (where applicable) including, Ballistas, Rock Lobbas, Trebuchets or Chariot Units etc. Squadrons, Teams and Chariot Units must number at least three models. The total size of the model/s in this category is limited in size to 300mm x 200mm x 200mm. As with all categories display bases are not to be used for this category.

GOLDEN DEMON MINIATURE:

New for 2007, this category is designed to level the playing field. It allows just the painting technique to be compared without the distraction of conversions, banners or model selection coming into it.

You can only enter the 2006 Golden Demon Model - Dwarf Daemon Slayer in this category. It must be mounted on the supplied 40mm round base. You can include scenic material that raises the model but the combined height of the model and base must not exceed 70mm. The model is not to include conversions or modifications.

YOUNG BLOODS, WARHAMMER SINGLE MINIATURE:

The Young Bloods painting competition is open to any competitor aged 14 years or under. Your entry should consist of any single Citadel miniature from the Warhammer universe, on its standard 20mm or 25mm square slottabase.

YOUNG BLOODS, WARHAMMER 40,000 SINGLE MINIATURE:

The young bloods painting competition is open to any competitor aged 14 years or under. Your entry should consist of any single Citadel miniature from the Warhammer 40,000 universe, on its standard 25mm round slottabase.

YOUNG BLOODS, THE LORD OF THE RINGSTM SINGLE MINIATURE :

The Young Bloods painting competition is open to any competitors aged 14 years or under. Your entry should consist of any single miniature from the Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game™ range, on its standard 25mm round slottabase.

YOUNG BLOODS, MEDIUM SIZED MINIATURE:

The Young Bloods painting competition is open to any competitor aged 14 years or under. Your entry should consist of any single Citadel miniature from the Warhammer or Warhammer 40,000 universe, on its standard 40mm round or square slottabase.

YOUNG BLOODS, UNDER 18 YEARS, SINGLE MINIATURE:

The new under 18 years painting competition is open to any competitor aged 17 years or under. Your entry should consist of any single Cidatel miniature from the Warhammer or Warhammer 40,000 universe, or from The Lord of The RingsTM Strategy Battle Game range, on its standard 25mm round and square or 20mm square slottabase.

DIORAMA:

Entries for this catagory consist of a diorama based on the worlds of Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000 or The Lord of The RingsTM. The display base must not be larger than 30cm x 30cm and the maximum permitted height is 30cm. The Diorama should be appropriate to the background of Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000 or The Lord of The RingsTM, but otherwise there are no restrictions on the diorama's theme or content.

OPEN:

The Open Competition is your opportunity to let you imagination run wild, so anything goes! Your entry could be a single model, an epic battle scene or whatever takes your fancy. Please take note that we will not accept artefacts into this category. Golden Demon is a miniature painting competition and we would like your entries to reflect that.

Entries should be no larger that 60cm x 60cm x 60cm.

We are looking for well-painted and brilliantly executed models that really capture the essence of our fictional worlds, but also in the spirit of what fantasy and science fiction modelling can be at its best.

This is one of the hardest competitions to win, not least because we encourage Games Workshop employees to enter. Our staff are not permitted to enter any other categories, so this is their one chance for glory in the Golden Demon competition.
